Question 2 of 5
You find a fire door wedged open on a Friday afternoon. What do you do, and why?

I'd take the wedge out so the door closes, because it is there to hold smoke back while people leave. I'd tell the property manager later this week (marked as not what they said). If people keep wedging it, I'd probably just leave it, because the trolleys need to get through.
A good answer
They would not
Assessed against: Keep fire doors closed; report defects to the property manager the same day
Removes the wedge and explains the smoke barrier, but the report is described as later in the week.

Questions come only from the building's approved material: its emergency plan, fire risk assessment, safety case and permit-to-work procedures. VeriViva doesn't state statutory requirements; it works from your approved procedures and the requirements you identify.
If an evacuation strategy or risk assessment is revised, upload the new file. The earlier one stays in the file history, and each question set records the exact file it was made from.
Short vivas fit around night shifts and contractor visits, and the knowledge gap view shows where gaps concentrate by role, so follow-up goes where the risk is.

For risk & compliance leads
Every viva has an evidence pack: the transcript, the participant's sign-off and the recording, with every decision and change in the audit trail.
The building-safety, facilities or operations lead owns every readiness and follow-up decision, and a named person is always responsible for the overall Viva decision. Responses accepted automatically are marked as such, so the decision owner knows exactly what they are relying on.
Build-to-rent, residential and commercial operators, facilities teams, managing agents and the contractors who work on their sites. It's especially useful where safety-critical duties sit with front-line and night-shift roles.
No. Questions are grounded in your approved procedures and the requirements you identify. Your accountable leads remain responsible for compliance decisions.
Yes. Contractors can be verified against your permit-to-work and site procedures, for example before site access, and they consent before they start.
Upload the revised document. The earlier file stays in the file history, and each question set records the exact file it was made from. Generate and approve questions from the new file before anyone is asked.
A named reviewer you choose. With Review every response, a person looks at each one. With Review exceptions, clean high-confidence drafts are accepted automatically and marked, while Not evidenced, Needs review, low-confidence, participant-note and sampled responses always reach a person. A named person is always responsible for the overall Viva decision.
Accountable Persons have to show they are managing building safety risks. Course certificates prove attendance, not that the people on site know what to do.

A correct answer isn't enough on its own. It has to be in the right order, specific to the site, and clear about where the person's own authority ends.
